HAIP Friends & Family,
The Year of the Rabbit has come & gone, yes another year. Well, 2012 is the Year of the Dragon and Kuhio Lions jointly with Temari is doing a Kadomatsu Demo and sales. Please come out for the demonstration to prepare for the Year of the Dragon. Click on the links in the flyer to see what we did last year and what our Kadomatsu looks like.
KADOMATSU. Or “gate pine,” is a traditional New Year’s decoration with origins in ancient Japan. This style of kadomatsu evolved during the Edo Period (1600-1868). Symbolizing long life and endurance, the kadomatsu is usually placed at the entrance to the home or office during the New Year season to welcome a year of Strength and growth. The toshigami brings prosperity and good wishes in the coming year to homes and businesses guarded by kadomatsu.
Great gift for your business clients, omiyage, friend or relative. If you’re interested on purchasing a Kadomatsu please let me know, we have a limited quantity and not selling the day of the demonstration.
Kuhio Lions Club is a non-profit community service organization founded in 1999. Kuhio Lions develops community support for traditional and contemporary arts through education, enterprise & special events.
