Aloha!

Do you know a student who is interested in a career in aviation?

Island Air continues its commitment to education by launching its fourth season of Island Air Explorers. Please join us at Orientation Night at Bishop Museum’s Atherton Halau on Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Students between the ages of 14 and 20 who have an interest in aviation are encouraged to attend with their parents. Applications will be accepted at Orientation and only 15 students will be invited to join the program.

The 10-week program gives students a hands-on preview of working in the airline industry. Each weekly session focuses on an airline-related career including pilots, flight attendants, aircraft mechanics, and airport operations. Visits are also scheduled with TSA, FAA, and Air Traffic Control.

Island Air holds Explorers post # 2437, previously held by Aloha Airlines, and managed by the Boy Scouts of America and its Learning For Life organization. More information and a downloadable application can be found at www.IslandAir.com/Explorers.

Island Air’s employee/volunteer advisors look forward to meeting the future of inter-island aviation at Orientation Night.
